Feels From Reels: Disclosure Day
A Spoiler-free Film Review Series

Feels from Reels is a spoiler-free film review series, where I capture only the emotions I felt and thoughts that came from them, while viewing a movie. This helps me consider the emotional connection an audience has to characters and stories in my own screenplays and short or long-form writing. I hope you enjoy! ❤️

🤔 Thoughts from Feelings
“What is that thing?”
“It’s unclear what their relationship is”
“I would be a whistleblower— no problem”
“I immediately don’t like him”
“Whoa… who is she?”
“Does nobody park their car normally?”
“No ER doctor would do that 🙄”
“Oh now that’s cool”
“What are those things”
“Dude reminds me of JD Vance 😑”
“I do not like how this is written”
“The music doesn’t fit. Too orchestral.”
“How can this one guy not be affected?”
“Thank goodness for Emily Blunt’s character.”
“I’ll forgive the rest of it if they nail this part”
“Okay, they nailed this part!”
“So many women doing the right thing to do”
“The silence says so much”
“It is statistically improbable that we are alone”
“We need our Disclosure Day”

Contact is still my favorite "are we alone?" movie because it asked the question I keep coming back to: What changes after the truth comes out? My answer has always been... surprisingly little. We'd still have to pay taxes, go to work, and mow the lawn. The universe may become infinitely bigger overnight, but Monday morning still shows up.
Then my X-Files brain kicks in and whispers, "Easy there... has anyone checked whether To Serve Man is a cookbook?" 😆 Go Rod Serling!
FYI, Mulder & Scully were debating this back in the 1990's! 😝 ET Phone Home! 👾
“Dude reminds me of JD Vance 😑”.
That got me. Bravo.
